From April 30 to May 2, 2025, the Im-Ok-Im-Jai Foundation organized the “Youth Camp: Taking Kids to Explore the Forest” activity. The event was led by 29 young guides, known as “Little Tour Guides,” from Prang Kla School, grades 4 to 6. They traveled to Khao Yai National Park to participate in a 3-day, 2-night nature conservation learning camp.
The camp aimed to foster love for their hometown and ignite pride in the natural resources, culture, and local way of life. It also sought to help the youth understand and appreciate the importance of conserving the rich forest ecosystem of Khao Yai through engaging and challenging field activities.
Key activities of the camp included:
-
Hiking nature trails to learn about various plant species in Khao Yai
-
Night wildlife observation to closely study the habits of wild animals
-
Developing observation, analytical, and teamwork skills
-
Creating creative media works such as essays, paintings, or videos under the theme “Khao Yai, My Home”
The participating youth not only gained firsthand experiences with nature but also learned to share knowledge as “Little Tour Guides” to pass on stories of Khao Yai to friends and tourists, encouraging sustainable conservation.
On the last day, all participants created one artwork each and presented their works in a gallery-style exhibition. The artworks reflected their deeper understanding of the national park’s ecosystem.
This project demonstrates that when children learn directly in real settings, they develop energy, pride, and awareness that prepare them to become the future leaders in community development.
